About Me
Me

Born May 4 1978 in Edgware, London. I was brought up amongst an extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts and lots of cousins, yet an only child. Many a time did I miss the fun and the fights with a sibling but with so many family members around I didn’t feel lonely.

It was my cousin that encouraged me to draw; he was 7 years older than me and always a fantastic artist. Most of the people I knew took the safe route into business, finance or accounting but I knew at a very early age that I couldn’t do that, it wasn’t in me to sit through hours of lectures and examinations to further myself in a career that seemed so drab and boring to me. Still I chose to follow a course in Computer Science, starting with a BTEC ND in Computing. In a way I’m glad I did as I have all the knowledge I need to build a website from scratch or to set up a simple database and program some code, even how to build a standard PC but at the time I began I was purely doing it for my parents, to make them proud that I was doing something that was much in demand and give them some hope that I will make something of myself. I went as far as an HND in Computer Studies at the University of Hertfordshire. This is where I found my true calling, I chose Multimedia as my option and never had so much fun, Interactivity was the main focus but here I built my very first website, it wasn’t much but at the time I was very pleased with myself, my own personal achievement.

Upon leaving Uni, I found myself at Bull Information Systems; a French company doing mundane stuff that really anybody could do so the need for an IT background was false in my opinion. Fine it was a job and it was kind of in the field that I had studied but it didn’t live up to expectations, they offered so much but didn’t give me the chance to prove myself once I’d accepted the job. A year later I met my husband and had my first child, maternity leave was an excuse for me to leave the company and now, I’m so glad that I did. Bull Information Systems was not what I was looking for.

I finally had quite a lot of spare time between changing nappies and feeding time so I made use of it, I’ve bought quite a lot of self-study books, ranging from HTML for Dummies to the 3DS Max Bible and taught myself everything I know now; and this is the stage I’m at, I know what I want to do with my life, I’ve done pieces here and there for friends and family, record labels such as SonyBMG and other musicians/artists/bands to help build up my portfolio; now it is time for me to do something for myself and this website is the first step.
